Rose wine is an intriguing subject for me simply because i have never tasted it before. I have heard it presents quite a departure from the usual red wine and is more or less an acquired taste since not everyone takes to it with pleasure.

Held to the light
Easily purchased from any big department store, i bought it on a whim (since i finish my 6 bottles of red already and was looking for a different fix) and mostly out of curiosity. I suppose we don't judge rose with the usual red wine criteria so i'll use a modified version.
Sight: A pleasant transparent red with easy light penetration.
Smell: An oakish fragrance was easily detectable.
Taste: It didn't taste the least bit like red wine. Light and lacking any spice taste whatsoever, it was easily enjoyable and fruity from the first taste. I felt it resembled offerings from Abor Mist which manufactures mixtures of white wine with different fruit items. This was more akin to Abor Mists White Zinfandel taste with the addition of light traces of rose inside it.

Written on the back is that is fruity and an enjoyable drink with pasta or chicken. That is definitely true. I quite liked the taste because it was less intrusive then red wine and has less bite. Its generally a good white meat after meal or pairing drink. It would have been a lot better if the taste of rose was a little stronger but as it is, it serves as a good and simple drink for all occasions. Try it if you are so inclined.
