StoneHaven Sparkling Brut
A nice little bubbly fizz
I opened this to celebrate Alvin's emminent departure to Australia after our nice simple meal Changi point where we had quite a bit of local delights which he will surely remember long after he leaves. (In case you were wondering, i'll blog about it very soon.)
Back to the issue at hand. the champagne was a first for me and the loud pop sound it made was quite shocking if you haven't heard it before. A point to note is always to have champagne chilled.
Taste: The drink was sweet and quite soft. I detected citrus-like elements in it which resembled apple flavours. (It probably is since i goggled it to make sure.) It wasn't too strong for anybodies tastes that night and we finished the entire bottle within minutes.
Overall: I liked it quite alot and i'm sure my friends did too. Its not strong and full of spices like red wines nor bland or overly oakish like white wines. The bubbly fizz factor was new to me but it only served to enhance the enjoyment of the drink. Its difficult for me to put it in words but i can now understand why champagne is a drink for celebrations. Something about it just screams: "CONGRATULATIONS!!" Obviously, i'm quite sure this isn't the best champagne around given its the first one i had but there's nothing about it i can pick on at present. Maybe with future bottles, i'll learn more to say about these nice little fizzes. Till then, i'd say champagne might be something you people would wanna try for yourselves to find out more. =)
